Does the AI make up evaluations?
No. Every evaluation, best move and line comes from Stockfish running on our servers, and the rules of chess are checked by code. Claude or ChatGPT explains what the engine returns.
I’m a beginner. Will I understand it?
That’s the point. By default Chess Coach explains without notation or numbers: which piece did what, what was better and why, with the board in front of you. If you want the technical version, just ask.
Do you need my Chess.com or Lichess password?
Never. We only read your public, finished games using your username.
What do I need to use it?
A Claude or ChatGPT account and your public Chess.com or Lichess username. Choose your assistant below for its connection steps. Install Chess Coach from your assistant’s directory and sign in.
Can I use it during a game?
No. Chess Coach only analyzes finished games. Fair play matters.
Is Chess Coach affiliated with Chess.com or Lichess?
No. Chess Coach is an independent product that works with your public games on both sites. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Chess.com or Lichess.
